Jo Kitney is the Managing Director and Primary Consultant of Kitney OHS, a forward thinking consultancy with a focus on supporting organisation’s to create safe, healthy, capable and productive workplaces that contribute to business success.
They have a strong focus on understanding business needs and providing solutions for health, safety, quality and environmental management.
Kitney OHS provides general consultancy services including audits, reviews, management systems, risk assessments, training, incident investigations and reporting, as well as specialist services for governance, due diligence, strategy, risk management, audits and tender preparation, benchmarking and coaching. They work across a range of industries, including manufacturing, heavy industry, construction, agriculture, education, hospitality, fast food, commercial, maritime and not-for-profit.
Jo Kitney has 23 years experience in Australia and the UK across manufacturing, maritime, education, health care, local government, hospitality and service industries. Prior to being the Director of Kitney OHS, Jo’s roles in Australia include State Manager of Work Health and Safety (WHS) for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qld, as well as Corporate Safety Team Leader for Brisbane City Council.
Jo is an active member of the Safety Institute of Australia, which is the leading professional organisation for health and safety. Jo has a strong focus on health and safety practice and is the Chair of the OHS Certification Governance Committee, a Queensland Branch Committee Member and the Brisbane Regional Representative, organising and presenting at health and safety meetings and acting as the point of contact for SIA members and non-members in the Brisbane area.
