Shopfront Improvement Grants Now Open
Grants of up to $5,000 have been announced for business owners looking to improve their shopfronts.
The Brisbane City Council scheme provides match funding of up to 50% of the cost of visual improvements to a suburban shopfront exterior.
The Suburban Shopfront Improvement Grants are designed to encourage property owners and tenants to refresh the façade of their shops with the dual purpose of generating business activity and improving the character of local business areas in Brisbane.
The council defines a shopfront as a physical business premises that has ground floor street frontage, contains display windows and is open to, and trades with, the public. Examples could include cafés, restaurants, retail stores, galleries, and healthcare or service providers.
Applications close Wednesday 23 December.
