Gathering Restrictions Ease
Gathering limits have been eased across a number of business categories including outdoor venues such as dining and beer gardens.
The four square metre rule has been reduced down to two square meters whilst the capacity for end of year outdoor events has risen from 500 to 1000 people.
The latest customer limits are:
- For outdoor venues - 1 person per 2 square metres
- For indoor venues with a floor space less than 200 square metres - 1 person per 2 square meters, up to 50 people
- For indoor venues with a floor space of more than 200 square metres - 1 person per 4 square metres.

Border zone
The beginning of October also the extension of the New South Wales border zone.
Queensland residents can travel anywhere in the New South Wales border zone for any purpose whilst New South Wales border zone residents can travel anywhere in Queensland for any purpose.
However, crossing the border still requires a Border Zone Travel Declaration pass which can be applied for here.
