FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE BOARDROOM
Northside high school teachers recently spent the day visiting local businesses as part of their annual professional development program.
Twenty teachers from seven schools, including Earnshaw State College, Kedron State High School, Bracken Ridge State High School, Sandgate District State High School, Craigslea State High School, and Mitchelton State High School, took part in the annual industry day.
The full day event saw teachers visiting Snap Print & Design at Geebung as well as Brisbane Airport Corporation. The teachers also visited one of the chamber's major sponors, the Brisbane Airport Hotels Group, where they enjoyed the specticular views from the Sky Lounge at the Ibis Brisbane Airport.
The industry day provides an opportunity for high school teachers to gain a first-hand understanding of how small and large businesses operate. The event is also a useful forum for teachers to explore and discuss how students can interact with local businesses.
BNCC thanks SNAP, BAC, and the Brisbane Airport Hotels Group for hosting this year's industry day.
