25k Energy Efficiency Grants
The Federal Government has announced grants of up $25,000 to help businesses improve their energy efficiency.
The grants for small and medium-sized firms can fund various measures, including upgrading or replacing existing air conditioners with high-efficiency units or gas heating boilers with heat pumps.
Other activities supported by the grant program include energy audits of business sites and investment in energy monitoring systems.
Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy Jenny McAllister said the grants would help SMEs lower energy costs and invest in new technology.
“Businesses could use this funding to replace old lights with LEDs or upgrade commercial refrigeration with energy-efficient units in hospitality businesses,” she said.
The new grants will be allocated to states and territories based on the distributions of small and medium businesses nationally.
Grant applications close on 19 April 2023 or when funding is exhausted. The government has set aside $16 million for this first round of the grant program.
