Small Business Series Workshops

Small Business Series Workshops: BNCC member Northside Meetings’ Small Business Series offers practical, realistic advice for small and micro businesses through seminars delivered by local business people.

Workshop 1 - No time to work on your business? 7 tips to save time & make money
Strategies to help you find an hour a day – while still getting the work done

Are you a frustrated, overwhelmed and confused business owner? Do you feel you’re doing too much but getting nowhere? You’re not alone! Most micro and small business owners are so busy working to pay the bills that they don’t find time to step back and look at the bigger picture.

In this workshop, Tamara Simon will outline the reasons why small business owners remain in reactive mode—to their peril. She’ll outline strategies for shifting from reactive to proactive, while still being able to pay the bills. And she’ll give you 7 top tips for saving an hour a day while you make money.

About Tamara Simon: Tamara has 20 years’ experience in business improvement and change management. She opened BSI (Business Scene Investigation) in 2002 to help small businesses and RTOs build simple, profitable businesses that they actually love. Her first two books, ‘The Five Little Business Pigs’ and ‘The Five Little RTO Pigs’ use the fairytale of the Three Little Pigs as a metaphor for building businesses. She’s found two more ‘pigs’:   ‘The Reno’ and ‘The Rundown’.

Workshop 2 - 3Ps of Small Business: People, Processes, Products
Learn to balance people, products and processes to create success in business.

Small and micro businesses need three strong pillars: the right people, great products and robust processes. It these pillars aren’t working in harmony, business success may be impossible. Great products and services can only provide strong business outcomes if they’re delivered by excellent people using clear processes.

In this workshop, strategic accountant David Le Sueur will discuss his approach for bringing the three pillars together to create a strong business that is ready for success. This workshop is designed for small and micro business owners, particularly those who are establishing a new business or thinking about ways to work more effectively.

About David Le Sueur: David has more than 30 years’ experience in small business accounting and advice. He is senior business consultant and head of CFO services at Walker Hill Chartered Accountants, and until recently was senior partner with Tatnell DLS Accountants. David advises businesses on structure, setup, financial management and tax.

The series offers an opportunity to network with other small business owners and learn about small business practice in an informal, friendly, non-judgemental environment. We’re not linked to any wider network … there’s no organisation to join and no hard sell, just realistic advice.
